Cleveland Play House Patron Experience at the Allen Theatre
-We are excited for everyone to see the new home of Cleveland Play House, the reimagined Allen Theatre at Playhouse Square. But before we go inside, let’s get everyone situated. The main parking structure is the Playhouse Square garage, located on Chester Avenue, with plenty of parking spaces to accommodate everyone. Once you’re parked, follow the posted signs to the theatres. The pathway will lead you into the Reinberger Rotunda, located just outside of the Allen Theatre. This is where you’ll find the bar and the restrooms. Just a few more steps and you’ll find yourself inside the lobby of the all new Allen Theatre. Here, you can find guest services, where you can get your tickets and ask any questions. As you move towards the theatre entrance, you’ll see two event lounges. This area serves as the main entrance to the theatre. Guests can enter into the orchestra level or box seats. Handicap seating is located in Row L, on the Orchestra level. This new section of seats is called the Parterre section, with each row sitting slightly elevated. Above the parterre section is the Balcony. Along with improved sight lines and technical improvements, the Allen Theatre has been furnished with comfortable seating that measures up to 22 inches wide, roomier than most theatre seating. The distance between seats is 36 inches for maximum comfort. The redesign of the Allen Theatre for Cleveland Play House resulted in many breathtaking features. Many elements of the original theater can still be seen, as well as the addition of new features, like perforated scrim walls, and lighting features that can either accent or hide architectural features, depending upon the show. The stage of the Allen features a new proscenium arch to suit the intimate dimensions of the audience chamber. Welcome to the Allen Theatre. We hope you enjoy our new home as much as we do. Let the show begin!
