New Jersey Theatre Alliance Growing Theatre in the Garden State

you go to the theater here one of much less expensive to its closer three enough don’t worry about the parking you get a meal for half the price all sorts of reasons plus which we’ve great theater companies in New Jersey we have some of the best regional theater an entire country right here in New Jersey and more people should know about it and what people should go there theaters have made it very very very very reasonable now for you to go and see world-class theatre the same people who are on the stage in New York myself included are on the stages in New Jersey and it’s not just actors scenic design set designs costume designs the health of any state is about the number of jobs that are provided in that state there are very definite success stories in New Jersey of towns that have turned around where theater has been very vital to that turn around and a knife is a show there’s always at least a 30 percent increase in that particular night but she’s getting an early hit people are going to the theater so they come in to dinner at 5 30 or six where a lot of weekend nights are not getting busy till seven so it’s giving you that extra hip every night there’s a show it’s a Saturday night I wish I did have a couple more saturday nights a week a theater is really an economic engine to that entire miss values that entire region because people come downtown people participate it’s for one thing in Union there is strength I think the New Jersey theater Alliance is the type of United Nations where people from different walks of life meet they get to know each other they get to help each other let’s face it everybody likes a bargain and I’ve heard so many people over the years who take advantage so to speak of this offer and then they stop paying attention it feeds the imagination that made you go beyond yourself and without the Arts I don’t think people are really educated the stages festival is smartly designed to get all families in there throughout the years that I have been working this wonderful program I’ve gotten to see how families share the bonding experience together and how kids just light up watching characters that they’ve read about come to life there have been other teachers that have asked me to help me bring this to my district er to my school and I told them it’s very simple all you gotta do is contact the theatre Alliance and and it don’t just give it to you it’s so simple it’s it’s fun and then what you just have to do is make it your own we teach the good lessons the teamwork in the best sense so as a result kids should get involved with the other the parents should bless and be so happy when their kids are getting involved in this activity because they’re going to learn more about themselves they’re going to learn to be better people and everybody wins if the theatre alliance did not bring this to our school it wouldn’t give the kids the opportunity to see this there are many low-income children that don’t get the chance to go to the theater with their family it’s their take up on that chance and enjoy it the theatre Alliance provides what i would call very important battle across 35 important institutions and hopefully more soon across our state because it provides that type of information or people with special needs you can really come together and also add you know the experience of the arts to their own histories and so that they can then bring people together and have that very very strong community experience I think it’s a very important part of who we are in New Jersey is the theater ones I had come to the theater before they started doing it but it’s a lot more enjoyable they let you field costumes they describe them to you it’s a deep deep like a rose you have a more better idea of what the shows about everything you have this device here and then you take this piece put it in your ear and you have a volume knob on this box here you can turn it up or down and then the person who is narrating the show is talking to you in this earpiece and you can hear everything that’s going on coming together a people is something that I really like seeing in New Jersey audiences they really come expecting it’s going to be good so that’s very special I’ve been able to do things and take risks on the stages in New Jersey which is really been a blessing for me artistically and to grow as an artist here in the garden state it’s not just vegetables that grow in the garden state any business people in New Jersey you are really anchored here and committed to New Jersey know the value of the Arts and what the Arts provide to the quality of life component and most of them like to be involved and want to be involved there’s something about being in common with other people and sharing the kind of experience you do in a darkened theater when you’re all getting the same emotions by the same experience thrust on and it it not only times you I think into the past in a way that’s unique and exceptional but it also builds an extraordinary foundation for a better society going forward into the future I
