[Classical music plays] Our Research in Action workshops give you the chance to be part of our exploration of 16th and 17th century drama. The workshops mix theatre practice and scholarship and we use the stuff of live theatre: the performances, the buildings, the audience to ask questions about the drama of Shakespeare’s day. We’ve explored staging, lighting, musical effects, audience laughter, stage violence, improvisation and much more. We use extracts from well-known and less-familiar plays. And the crucial part of a Research in Action workshop is you, the audience. Expect discoveries and expect to be asked for your opinion.
