Rome Maker Faire, Contest & Twitter News

Hey everyone! Last week I had a contest who could guess
why my rotary hammer drill is named Polly Ann, several of you got it right. Let me give you a hint: Now John Henry had a little woman. Her name was Polly Ann. John Henry took sick and had to go to bed. Polly Ann drove steel like a man. Polly Ann drove steel like a man. That’s right it’s from the famous American
song and folktale, John Henry. If you were one of the first five to get it
right please check my reply to your comment so you can get in touch and let me know where
to send your stickers. For everyone else- I’ll try to have more contests
soon. Next, I’ll be at the Rome Maker Faire from
October 18th to 20th, 2019. I’ll be there with JLCPCB at booth 8F43-F44. I’ll have some stickers with me, some LED
Pigtail rings soldering kits, maybe some pictures to autograph if I don’t run out, and of course
I’m always happy to take selfies. Seriously, I’m super friendly- just stop me
and ask, it’s no problem. I have a private WeChat group set up for the
Faire, if you’re going, email and I’ll add you. In addition to Rome, I might try to make it
up to Florence. I’ve never been to Italy before, not even
Europe. So any recommendations for good restaurants
and activities you think I might like please let me know in the comment section. Unfortunately, I won’t have time to go to
any other cities during this trip. Sorry! For those of you not going I’ll try to do
some live streaming on YouTube, I’d like to live-Tweet it, but Twitter locked my account
after I tagged the New York Times for stealing my video. That’s happened a few times now so I’m kind
of used to them throwing their weight around. But that’s pretty minor news when it comes
to huge corporations throwing free speech out the window this week, right? I wish there was something I could tell you. The best advice I’ve got is don’t allow private
monopolies to censor public discussions without legal consequences. They’ll just sell out to whoever has the most
money, and that’s never going to be people like you and me. In the meantime, I’ll say what I can, where
I can, as they continue to try and deplatform and defund me for not saying and being what
they want. I hope you’ll keep trying to find me and enjoy
my silly little corner of the Internet. I’m not harming anyone, just sharing the life
of a weird girl from a high tech city, living her own life. I’m flattered so many of you have been interested
and willing to support me. Thank you so much. Really, for a working-class girl, the daughter of factory workers pretty much destined for a life on the line herself, This is crazy! It’s so much more than I could have ever hoped for and I am very grateful to all of you.

  1. This latest Twitter blocking truly ticks me off. No honest statement from Twitter about the situation. They maintain complete silence on any of our requests to unblock your account. Thanks for continuing to keep everyone up to date.

  2. when going to restaurants in italy, be very careful of opened wine bottles, bread, and the like, those things have a tendency to add huge charges to the bill

  3. Love who you are and I love what you do and unfortunately there's always going to be haters out there causing problems to those that rise above So just keep rocking and doing what you do best beautiful lady

  4. Hi there, Naomi!
I've created a WeChat group for YouTube content creators in China. You can be as active as your commitments allow, just know that your participation would be greatly appreciated.

The aims of the group are the following:
    – Support/get help from other content creators in China in order to grow together/faster.
    – Coordinate collabs or videos together based on proximity – perhaps one of the best ways to get noticed.
    – Exchange technical questions about equipment, editing, strategies, etc
    – Buy/sell used gear!

I'm posting a video about it tonight (12 Oct 2019) to promote this group. You can scan the QR code (valid during October only) in the video or search the group name.

Cheers and hope to talk to you in the group soon!

  5. Naomi you are a prity decent girl I for one am pleased to have found you give me a message if ever you come back to Bangkok, I will great you to the best ice cream in Asia regards peter

  6. Wow, you can sing too. Man you are a very talented person, and I thank you for sharing all of it with us. Also would like to share something funny.
One of my wife's friends seen me watching your video and said to her "how could you let your husband watch a woman dressed like that?" My wife said "because she is a smart woman and he is not watching for the reasons you think she is the reason he got a 3D printer that was used to make the part you needed for you sons laptop"

  7. Naomi do you like ice cream? If yes, go to Palazzo del Freddo Giovanni Fassi near Rome Termini (train station) it's the best ice cream I found there. Make sure you get cream on top of the ice cream!

  8. TANJ!! (and kudos to those that know what that means). She's smart, she's good with tools, she's pretty and now we find out she can sing…

  9. The churches in Rome and Florence are a must. There are a lot of sculptures from Michelangelo and other great masters you can see this way for free. But do mind there's a dress code to enter.

  10. Naomi 'SexyCyborg' in Rome, it's incredible. First of all I hope you have contacts in Rome that will give you the right information on how to get around the city. Rome is beautiful but a bit complicated to move by any means, apart from the bike (((-:
I live in Rome and I know it.
For restaurants, in Rome you can eat very well, to give advice maybe it is useful to know at least the neighborhood of your hotel and be able to indicate something in the area. Welcome to Rome ((-:

My english is poor, translated with google ((-:

  11. Hmm many social networks wear the magic item, mantle of "freedom of expression" 😏… until your speech bothers a big company 😜 … I haven't twitter and I'm not a fan of any similar stuff πŸ˜… but I understand how much means that for you considering it's one of the main ways to interact with the people who support you and to share your ideas, btw I'm impressed that you remain calm and your message in the have been reasonable
, your personality reflects how many challenges you had to overcome!! πŸ‘πŸ˜ŽπŸ’– Don't give up, wish you a nice weekend!! βœŒοΈπŸ˜‹

  12. It's such a shame that people can't just get along.

Black, white, asian, gay, straight, trans, Muslim, Christian, Buddhist…

Don't take what isn't yours, don't encroach on your neighbour.
But sadly we aren't like that as a race of people.

I admire your tenacity to not be knocked down Naomi.
Get up, brush yourself off and continue.
    😊

  13. You should swing by Berlin Maker Faire next summer, they had a huge amount of 3D printing afficionados this year, it felt like half the faire was dedicated to 3D printing^^

  14. "They" want others to do what "they" say, not do what "they" do! "They" are trying to control EVERYTHING! NEVER GIVE IN!!

  15. You are really admirable, I am from Mexico and your videos have helped me a lot, I hope that everything is for you to continue growing!
    P. d. You are very adorable.

  16. Be sure to get the Omnia Card, Skip the LIne Tickets it will save you a lot of time at all major sightseeing location. maybe off season not so bad. bring a Paksafe backpack or purse..

  17. Too bad your time is limited, I'd suggest a stop in Ireland if you could swing it. Friendly people, amazing scenery, and great 'craic' in pretty much any pub you choose to enter. Hoping to get back there one of these days.

  18. I would like to know who these idiots are that give you a thumbs down , they obviously don't actually listen to what you are talking about since there is nothing objectionable about your your program. Thanks again , love ya.

  19. It's from a song by Johnny Cash, John Henry. .Can you turn that follow you suit case into a robot. ?

  20. Just do what you do Naomi. Many people start get tired of this, big corporate, and their behavior. Keep going strong girl!

  21. I used to like the internet because anyone from anywhere in the world could access it and speak freely without much consequence, however that's changing for the worse every day now. Internet used to be where i escaped from reality and people judging me, nowadays internet judges everyone for everything they do. Every passing day i'm using social media less and going outside more because i just can't stand the censorship/hate groups anymore, i'll always remember the days when internet was the friendliest place to me though πŸ™

  22. Love your videos. Especially when you talk honestly about your opinions and beliefs. Feels like having a conversation with a friend. Keep it up! Have a great trip!

  23. I am very proud to support you on tipeee. I am happy to see that you have found a good sponsor, and you are able to travel with it.

  24. Naomi stay safe on your trip and we hope to see some videos of it too.
Those big corporate companies act like they are the only game in town (and some are monopolies at it too)
Just keep doing what you are doing and looking sexy at it too.
You are doing the public a great service by showing your great skills at what you do and we should be allowed to see it.
I wish I could be at that show too and meet you in person and hang out with you.

  25. I saw a rainbow today, and it was beautiful.😊
    Keep up the good work!

As a tip, double check the prices in restaurants, because a lot of them try to scam you.
(e.g. pricing per 100 gram then servicing 2 kilos. 10€ for 100gr fish then servicing 2 kilo's of fish thus billing you 200€, because they did not mention the portion size.)

  26. You will find the food in Italy some of the best in Europe; enjoy! Ask the locals you meet at the Faire; they can steer you to some of the better eateries. Oh, and I like and approve of your exhaust pickup visible at the right edge of the frame. As to the rest of your message, you are most welcome and although you may be the daughter of factory workers, I believe you are an exceptional individual and teacher with the grit to survive and overcome any adversity you encounter as you move through life. Bon voyage, Naomi.

  27. Wow! You CAN sing! I follow a Ukrainian armour maker who makes also great traditional guitar music for his own vids, it seems to be the next thing on YouTube, love you, Naomi!

  28. Damnit… I love your Twitter feed! Your snarky, genuine, in your face take on what it is to be… well, you, but also the issues you see as a non conforming content creator who remembers her roots as the little "guy" have been really uplifting to me.

I don't doubt you'll continue doing your thing, no master what it takes. We all know that your place is showing the world awesome tech, making cool (and sexy) things, and proving that money only means a better workshop and cooler projects!

  29. You’re more important than your sensors, and they’ll never get that. Thanks for leading, it’s inspirational.

  30. If you have time, the Vatican and the Vatican museum are much more impressive than what I was prepared for. You have to be covered from knees to shoulders though. It's overall a wonderful city, have fun!

  31. Naomi finally here in Italy?! 😍😍😍

    But… πŸ˜₯ I do work on 20 october πŸ˜₯

  32. Welcome to Italy, Naomi! I'm from north Italy, but I went to Rome this summer. If you have the chance, I recommend you to visit CinecittΓ  Studios, the "Italian Hollywood" 🀩 ! I think you'll love it… and maybe you'll be chosen as actress 😎! I don't usually watch Italian productions but I'd certainly watch a movie played by you 😍! (I'm really sorry for the Twitter lock. The illusion of free speech on these platform is just that: an illusion. Hope you'll find the strength to keep on fighting!)

  33. You will need to buy your ticket in advance from the Vatican website to see Michaelangelo's ceiling masterpiece at the Sistine Chapel. Love your sexy outfilts Naomi but if you visit the Vatican, you will need to dress modestly. Go see the Statute of David and Palazzo Vecchio in Florence. And it's difficult to find Chinese food in Italy and there is no Starbucks

  34. Hum, Twitter? You might take a look at GAB and Parler as alternatives to twitter. It also might be a good idea to create a presence on bitchute as a backup in case youtube hoses you.

  35. πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜πŸ’–πŸ’–

  36. You must be happy in your new place. You look very healthy! I love your videos, don't forget, you're not just entertaining and educational, but massively inspiring… My wife and I absolutely love you Naomi!

  37. There is some weird bullshit going on. This video is three plus days old, but I just now got a notification that it's a new upload. It popped up just after I was looking at your Twitter account after realising that I hadn't seen anything from you for a while.

  38. Incredible to have you at the Rome Maker Faire! I'll look forward to meet you πŸ™‚
And if you want a guide for Florence, let me know!

  39. I've been visiting the Rome Maker Faire today, Oct 19th 2019, but couldn't find you neither at the JLCPCB stand nor elsewhere at the other stands. Were you really there? Very sad not to have been able to meet you …
