[Jacob] I’m Jacob Wahba and I’m directing “Beauty
Runs On Light Feet,” by Kenneth Lonergan. I think on paper, it reads like an intimate
moment that is being shared between a married couple and it reads like an
argument. I didn’t see it like that. I saw two people in a moment in time that are
going through human complexities and issues that I think a lot of people
can resonate with just being a human being and being in a relationship. [Jake] I can identify with Mark’s kind of
tendency to overthink things, and he definitely loves his family a lot, but he
sometimes has trouble knowing how to express that and knowing how to how to
tell them that. [Emma] I hope that when people see this show it makes them appreciate their parents and think about the relationships
they have in their life. [Jacob] I really hope that people leave the
theater being reminded the great responsibility of parenting and what
that entails and because of that appreciate people more in parenting
roles. I think a lot of the times people don’t really give people the credit that
they really deserve to be a parent. It is- so hard to be a parent, and I think I’m
guilty of that too with my parents, not really realizing the sacrifices they
made for me.
